PC-Sealcoat® BT is a liquid-applied, permanently elastic, cold-curing, bitumen-extended, single-component solvent-based polyurethane membrane specially crafted for long-lasting waterproofing solutions. Incorporating the PC-Sealcoat® BT, this product features pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resins combined with chemically polymerized virgin bitumen, providing exceptional resistance to mechanical stress, chemicals, heat, and environmental elements. The curing process of the PC-Sealcoat® BT is facilitated through a reaction with ground and atmospheric moisture.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Achieving a high-quality and durable finish necessitates meticulous surface preparation. Prior to the application of any coating, it is imperative to thoroughly clean the surface, ensuring it is completely dry and free from any substances that might impede the membrane’s adhesion.
Maintaining the moisture content below 5% is critical. Moreover, the substrate should exhibit a compressive strength of 25MPa or higher and a cohesive bond strength of at least 1.5MPa. In the case of new concrete surfaces, a minimum drying period of 28 days is mandatory. Removal of loose coatings, dirt, oils, organic residues, and dust from the surface is recommended using a grinding machine. Additionally, it is essential to level surface imperfections and clear away any loose debris and grinding residue thoroughly.

APPLICATION

Prior to application, thoroughly stir the mixture for 2-3 minutes. Utilize a roller or brush to apply PC-Sealcoat® BT evenly across the surface until complete coverage is achieved. Target areas prone to issues, such as wall-floor junctions, 90° angles, chimneys, pipes, and waterspouts, by reinforcing them with PC-Seal®mash. For reinforcement, carefully position a properly cut piece of PC-Seal®mash onto the damp PCSealcoat® BT, firmly press it to ensure absorption, and then saturate it once more with an ample amount of PC-Sealcoat® BT. Apply an additional layer of PC-Sealcoat® BT between 8 to 24 hours after the initial application. In cases where greater durability is required, contemplate applying a third layer of PC-Sealcoat® BT. If the ultimate layer of PC-Sealcoat® BT is intended to be tiled with ceramic tiles, it is imperative to saturate it completely with oven-dry silica sand (sized 0.4 – 0.8 mm) while the surface remains wet.

RETAINING WALLS AND METAL SURFACES APPLICATION

For the protection of the cured PC-Sealcoat® BT, it is recommended to employ a drainage board prior to backfilling. In cases where additional thermal insulation is required, consider placing an insulation board (such as XPS, EPS, PUR, etc.) over the cured PC-Sealcoat® BT before adding the protective drainage board.
Metal surfaces should be Dry and clean. Free of grease, loose particles, dust, etc. that may impair adhesion.Free of rust or corrosion that may impair adhesion. Having been prepared by brushing, rubbing, sandblasting, etc., and then thoroughly
cleaned from dust, metal surfaces are primed with the PC-Rustproof® RC anticorrosive epoxy coating in one or two layers. PC-Rustproof RC is applied by roller, brush or spray. The second layer follows after the first has dried, but within 24 hours. Consumption: 150-200 g/m² /layer. Application of PC-Sealcoat® BT should follow within the next 24- 48 hours.
