PC-Sealcoat® 220 is a single-component, bitumen and coal tar-free, high solid content, liquid-applied elastomeric polyurethane resin-based cold-applied coating system. It is ideally suited for the waterproofing of all type of roofs, terraces, walls, and basements, conforming to ASTM C-836-95 and ASTM C-898-95 standards.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surfaces to which the application will be made must be dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. It is essential to remove any loose particles and repair any damaged areas before proceeding. Cracks should be filled with PC-Crack Seal® Paste or epoxy mortar. To enhance the adhesion of PC-Sealcoat® 220 Coating to the substrate, it is advisable to apply PC-Prime® AC as a primer coat. However, PC-Sealcoat® 220 can also be applied directly to a cleaned, dust-free, and sound concrete surface. Prior to the application of the coating or primer, ensure that the surface moisture content does not exceed 8%.

APPLICATION

PC-Sealcoat® 220 can be applied by brush, roller. Alternately can be applied by a suitable spray gun or spread by a rubber squeegee. Additional layer must only be applied when previous layer become dry Recommended consumption of product should be followed. For multiple coats allow sufficient drying application (time gap between two coats : 8-12 hours) between coats. Wherever possible apply coats at right angles to each other to achieve even thickness of coating. Recommended film thickness should be 700 microns to 1000 microns for normal waterproofing using 1.0-1.3kg material. Higher thickness (1000 microns to 2000 microns) of coating is also used depending on site requirement.

PRECAUTIONS

Before waterproofing a flat surface, it is essential to begin with a meticulous application process.
Ensure that the applied coats are shielded from moisture until they are completely cured.
Avoid applying the product in temperatures exceeding 40°C or falling below 10°C.
Apply the product as the ambient and substrate temperatures are decreasing to prevent the formation of pinholes, which can result from air rising during application in increasing temperatures.
Parapet walls should be coated up to a minimum height of 1 ft using PC-Sealcoat® 220.
When covering joints, utilize an angular fillet. For the installation of a geotextile membrane, it is recommended to apply PC-Sealcoat® 220 in sections with a width of 1 meter.
