PC-Sealcoat® SR is an eco friendly, high-build coating formulated with acrylic polymer for application on roofs and exterior walls. Engineered to efficiently reflect solar heat, this advanced coating utilizes premium titanium oxide pigment, reflecting more than 90% of solar radiation. Moreover, the incorporation of specialized micronized ceramic hollow spheres works to reduce heat transfer, contributing to improved interior cooling. Upon curing, PC-Sealcoat® SR transforms into a high-performance waterproof membrane. When applied to external walls and roofs, this innovative coating can potentially result in a significant reduction of up to 30% in energy expenses.

SURFACE PREPARATION

To ensure the proper application and effectiveness of PC-Sealcoat® SR, it’s critical to prepare all surfaces adequately beforehand. The surface must be free of any loose particles, foreign materials, or contaminants that could impact the bond between the original substrate and the PC-Sealcoat® SR system. This can be achieved through various approved methods such as scarifying, grinding, water blasting, sandblasting, or acid washing. Additionally, any depressions or honeycomb-like patterns present on the surface should be rectified before application by utilizing repairing mortar and allowing it to set for at least 24 hours before applying PC-Sealcoat® SR.

CRACK TREATMENT

In the event of any cracks measuring up to 2 mm, utilize a vacuum cleaner to ensure the area is free of debris. Apply PCCrack Seal® Paste to the exposed cracks, followed by a coating of PC-Crack Seal® Paste along the crack line. Allow the area to dry overnight

PC-Sealcoat® SR establishes a robust bond with various building materials, including cement concrete, mortar, bricks, wood, and metal. To enhance the performance of the final coating system, it is advisable to utilize PC-Prime® AC as a primer, particularly for exterior walls. The use of a primer on roofs is optional. For optimal results, ensure that the primer is well-stirred and applied to a dry surface using a soft nylon brush or roller. Typically, a single coat suffices; however, if the surface is exceptionally porous, two coats of primer are recommended. It is advisable to allow a time gap of 2-3 hours between the application of the two coats.

After applying the primer coat, allow it to reach a touch-dry state for approximately 2-3 hours. Next, stir PC-Sealcoat® SR to
achieve a smooth and homogeneous consistency, and apply it horizontally with a soft nylon brush, roller, or squeeze it to a
thickness of 125-150 microns in a single coat. Allow the applied coat to dry for approximately 4-5 hours. When the first
coat is dry enough, you can apply the second coat vertically. Typically, two coats are sufficient for general application,
providing a thickness of 250-500 microns DFT. However, for severe conditions, it’s advisable to apply three or more coats to
achieve desired results.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

To prevent punctures, avoid dragging reinforcement rods and other sharp material over the PC-Sealcoat® SR.
Additionally, always use PC-Sealcoat® SR without diluting it.
When applying the coating, refrain from exceeding a thickness of 200 microns at once. For thicker coatings, apply multiple coats.
Allow for a minimum of 6-8 hours after the final coating application before any rain exposure.
After the final coating application, conduct a 24-hour pond test after 72 hours.
