UV-resistant top coat to surfaces exposed to sun light to achieve a glossy, color-stable finish that resists chalking.

PACKAGING

PC-Sealcoat® Top is available in 20KG pails

PC-Sealcoat® Top is a pigmented, colorfast, and UV-stable coating known for its exceptional durability and elasticity. Applied and cured at low temperatures, this single-component aliphatic polyurethane coating is tailored to serve as a protective top layer over exposed polyurethane waterproofing coatings. Through a moisture-induced chemical reaction with ambient moisture, this coating provides enduring safeguarding properties.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Application is simplified through the use of a roller or airless spray method.
  • Formulated as a single component.
  • Improves the abrasion and wear resistance of the underlying waterproofing membrane.
  • Exhibits high sun reflectivity, offering thermal insulation advantages.
  • Demonstrates UV and color stability, ensuring enduring performance.
  • Yields a lustrous surface that is easy to clean.
  • Resistant to the chalking effect commonly observed in aromatic polyurethane coatings.
  • Endures water, heat, and frost exposure.
  • Maintains mechanical properties within a temperature range from -40°C to +90°C.
  • Suitable for pedestrian traffic on waterproofed surfaces in residential environments.

USES

A specialized protective layer designed for waterproofing coats serves various applications, such as:
Roof waterproofing Waterproofing for balconies, terraces, and verandas Waterproofing for pedestrian decks and
walkways Protection for polyurethane foam insulation

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Surface preparation

  • Careful surface preparation is essential for optimum finish and durability.
  • The surface needs to be clean and sound, free of any contamination, which may harmfully affect the adhesion of the primer.
  • Maximum moisture content should not exceed 5%. Substrate compressive strength should be at least 25 MPa (N/mm²), cohesive bond strength at least 1.5 MPa (N/mm²). Old coatings, dirt, organic substances and dust need to be removed by a grinding machine.
  • Oil or grease contamination must be cleaned substantially. Possible surface irregularities need to be smoothened. Any loose surface particles and grinding dust need to be thoroughly removed.

WARNING: Do not wash the surface with water!

Top coat
Stir PC-Sealcoat®Top well before using. Apply by roller, brush or airless spray in one or two layers.
Allow 3-6 hours (not more than 36 hours) to cure, between two layers. For best results, the temperature during application and cure should be between 5°C and 35°C. Low temperatures retard cure while high temperature speed up curing. High humidity may affect the final finish.

CAUTION: PC-Sealcoat® Top may pose a slip hazard when wet. To mitigate the risk of slipping during rainy conditions, it is
recommended to disperse suitable aggregates onto the recently treated surface to improve traction. For additional details, please contact our PC-WC Technical Services team. If areas of the surface exhibit ponding water where the PC Sealcoat® Top system is utilized, routine cleaning is vital to mitigate potential biological and microbial deterioration.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE

PC-Sealcoat®Top is contained in 20 kg metal pails. Optimal storage guidelines recommend storing these pails in dry, cool
conditions for up to 9 months to shield the contents from moisture and sunlight. The recommended storage temperature falls within the range of +5°C to +30°C. It is advisable to maintain the products in their original, sealed containers, including vital information such as the manufacturer’s name, product label, batch number, and application instructions.

CONSUMPTION

The recommended coverage usually falls within the range of 120-250 grams per square meter, typically administered in one or two layers. This calculation is based on applying the substance with a roller on a sleek surface in optimal circumstances. Actual consumption may fluctuate based on variables like surface porosity, temperature, humidity, application method, and the desired final appearance.
